About this Decision Support System (DSS)

A DSS is a tool that allows users to get answers to “what-if?” kinds of questions. This SmartWA DSS allows a small business owner user to ask which COVID-19 safety actions are most likely to make customers feel safe and result in an increased number of customer visits.

To use this tool:

1. Select your category of business.
2. Select the combination of safety actions you are considering or already have in place.
3. View the "Predicted % change in visits" to see whether that combination of safety actions is likely to increase the number of customer visits. For example, if the predicted % change is 138%, that means the DSS predicts 38% more visits than if you did not take safety actions.
4. Select "Add another scenario" if you'd like to compare results from a different combination of COVID-19 safety actions.
